How long has it been available? Exbansion berries for cables available and looks like it could add about 5 new theses hard drives is that sound right? (I acer a new PC) what these players have not advantades TNS more than conventional units? are Transferrate data between two of the discs faster than between the two IDE drives? So many questions … =)
In early 2007, manufacturers have been selling stere SATA and 2.5-inch SAS drives for use in servers and office computers. SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) is another standard series brings the world SATA SCSI. Note that this is serial, not parallel, so that readers can not be chained. SAS drives are generally almost as fast as their counterparts SCSI with the added benefit of a serial bus. For the user, this means that when using multiple disks (four or more), you really can get transfer rates as fast as SCSI (which is limited by the bus shared by all disks connected to a controller). As a bonus, SATA hard drives will run on SAS controller, the update is easy for existing users SATA (SAS drives can not connect to a SATA). Theoretical maximum transfer rate SAS drives are currently 300 Mb / s, but 600 MB / s units are coming soon. Hope this helps …..
